24-hour report: Young woman exposed to domestic violence

A man in his 30s has been charged with assaulting his 24-year-old partner. Two men from Sisimiut have been detained in a case of assault from the weekend.

On Monday morning, Greenland Police Chief Aqqalu Petersen highlighted four things from the past 24 hours.

However, there is little he can say about all the cases because they are so new that they are still being processed by the police.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with vandalism in Maniitsoq. The chief of police cannot say what he has committed vandalism against.

In Nuuk, a man in his 30s has been charged with assaulting his 24-year-old partner. The incident was reported to the police at 00:57 from the Nuuk district of Nuussuaq.

– The man has been charged in the case, but I can’t say more, says the chief of police.

At the same time, the chief of police says that the two men who were produced in the Sisimiut District Court on Sunday after a violent incident on Saturday morning in Sisimiut have both been detained.

The last case the chief of police mentions is a theft from Narssaq, where a minor stole an ATV during the night. The report came in at 03:39, and the social authorities have been notified because it is a minor, says Aqqaluk Petersen.
