Attassut’s chairman seeks leave

The chairman of Atassut, Aqqalu C. Jerimiassen, has applied for leave of absence from the municipal council of Avannaata Municipality. The leave is due to health problems and personal circumstances.

In a Facebook post, Jerimiassen announced that he is temporarily stepping down from certain duties at Avannaata Kommunia. He has requested leave for three to four months from July 1.

– I am in the middle of some personal matters and family challenges that require my full attention for a period of time. When I have regained my energy and overview, I will return to my tasks, he says in an interview with KNR.

Aqqalu J. Jerimiassen has since 2017 been a member of the municipal council. He is also a business consultant in Avannaata Kommunia, a member of Parliament and chairman of Atassut.

– I have chosen to scale back some of the tasks for now. This does not affect my other positions. The Inatsisartut meetings will only really start later, although the work is technically already underway. But it has been important for me not to take on too many things at once, he says.
