COWI Expands Its Footprint in Greenland with New Office in Nuuk

In a noteworthy development for the consultancy sector, COWI is set to open a new office in Nuuk on October 1, marking a significant expansion of its presence in Greenland. This move is a reflection of the company’s longstanding commitment to the region, where it has been actively involved for over 60 years.

In a press release detailing this strategic step, Jens Højgaard Christoffersen, Group CEO of COWI, emphasized the importance of their continued investment in Greenland. He noted that the firm is currently engaged in several key projects across various sectors, including defense, critical infrastructure, and the extraction of essential raw materials. According to Christoffersen, “The need for substantial investments in defense, resilience, and development in Greenland is only expected to grow in the coming years.”

As part of this expansion, Lasse B. Mousten will assume the role of managing director of COWI in Greenland. Having lived in the country for the past 18 years, Mousten brings invaluable local expertise to the position. “COWI has extensive experience working on projects in Greenland, collaborating closely with municipalities, the Naalakkersuisut (Government of Greenland), the Digitalization Agency (Aqutsisoqarf), and Sikuki Nuuk Harbour,” he stated.

Mousten believes that establishing a local office will enhance COWI’s ability to foster collaboration with local businesses and strengthen the company’s relationships with its customers and partners. “As a locally rooted adviser, we have an even better opportunity to increase cooperation and support the community’s development efforts,” he added.

With this new office, COWI not only affirms its dedication to the region but also positions itself as a key player in the ongoing growth and development of Greenland’s infrastructure and services.
