An adult man and two children have been reported missing after they sailed from Narsaq towards Qassimiut yesterday. Dense fog is making the police search difficult.

An open dinghy was reported missing around midnight yesterday after it sailed out of Narsaq towards the settlement of Qassimiut northwest of the city. This was reported by the Greenland Police Chief of Staff, Carl Sværd.

On board the dinghy are an adult man and two children. Relatives of the three raised the alarm yesterday at 11:20 p.m. Volunteers have been searching for the boat through the night, but the search has been hampered by dense fog in the area.

Nothing has yet been heard from the missing. The police and emergency services are waiting for better visibility to be able to launch an actual SAR operation

    – We are following the situation closely and are keeping an eye on DMI to see when the fog will lift, says duty officer Carl Sværd.

    Truck stolen in Nuuk

Early this morning at 04:57, a truck was reported stolen and subsequently found crashed into a lamppost in Nuuk.

According to Carl Sværd, there are currently no suspects in the case. Citizens with information are therefore asked to contact the police.
