Cases of Violence in Aasiaat: Investigations Underway
Meanwhile, in Aasiaat, a troubling incident of violence has been reported involving two minors. One minor was assaulted by another, raising significant concerns.
“The police are already aware of who the perpetrator is,” Warden Petersen added. Both boys are over the age of 15, which allows for the perpetrator to face charges. While no formal presentation has been made yet, the involvement of social authorities is also crucial due to the age of the victim.
In a separate case, a man from Nuussuaq has been arrested for allegedly inflicting violence on his partner. “The man was apprehended after the incident, and we are currently assessing whether he needs to be brought before the court today,” Petersen explained.
Lastly, the search continues for a 32-year-old man who escaped from Nuuk prison last Thursday. “He is still on the loose,” Warden Petersen said, urging anyone with information to contact authorities at 70 14 48.
The community is advised to stay vigilant as these situations develop.
