Kenneth Kleist, the chairman of Kalaallit Arsaattartut Kattuffiat (KAK), has expressed his excitement over the Greenland men’s futsal national team’s upcoming participation in the Futsal Week January Cup 2026. This international tournament is set to take place in Labin, Croatia, from January 22 to 25, 2026, as announced by KAK.

This tournament will feature representatives from eight nations, offering Greenland’s team a unique opportunity for valuable international match experience in a professional environment. They will kick off their campaign against Romania on Thursday, January 22.

Thanks to the support from Elite Sport Greenland and the main sponsorship from the Bank of Greenland, this participation has become a reality, marking a significant chapter in the development of futsal in the country.

“International competitive training is vital for our growth,” Kleist emphasized. “With the support of Elite Sport Greenland and the Bank of Greenland, we can provide our players with experiences that extend far beyond a single tournament. This is a crucial step in our long-term strategy for advancing futsal in Greenland.”

Fans can catch the action via live stream on the official channels of Futsal Week.
