Greenland’s Futsal Men’s National Team Poised for International Showdown
The Futsal Men’s National Team of Greenland is gearing up for an exciting return to the field as they prepare to participate in Futsal Week from January 16 to 26, 2026. The tournament will unfold in the picturesque town of Poreč, Croatia, where from January 21 to 25, Greenland will compete against a lineup of formidable opponents including Romania, Malta, San Marino, Scotland, and Switzerland.
“It’s invigorating to engage with teams that are closer to our competitive level,” remarked the coaching duo, Bo Holden and René Olsen. “This experience will provide us with valuable insights into where we stand in our development compared to others. While we still face challenges in securing the same number of matches as European teams, this tournament offers a chance to compete with opponents with whom we can truly measure ourselves.”
Indeed, Greenland has previously faced some of these teams with promising results. Despite recognizing Romania as the frontrunner, Holden and Olsen express optimism about their squad’s prospects. “We believe we can hold our ground in the other matches and are genuinely hopeful of clinching some victories,” they stated.
Bolstered by a strong lineup and a dedicated training regimen, Greenland looks forward to testing their skills on the international stage. Regardless of the outcomes, this tournament represents a significant milestone in the national team’s ongoing journey of growth and development.
