A Look Ahead to Snowmobile Adventures in Greenland
Snowmobiles are more than just a mode of transport in Greenland; they are a source of joy and adventure. Over the past decade, the number of snowmobiles sold has steadily climbed, reflecting their importance in our daily lives.
Currently, there are 3,326 registered snowmobiles across the country, a dramatic increase from just 922 in 2015.
Ski-Doo and Lynx: The Territory’s Favorites
Grønlands Bådcenter specializes in selling snowmobiles from Lynx and Ski-Doo, brands that thrive in our rugged terrain of steep mountains and deep snow. Lynx, manufactured in one of the world’s leading factories in Finland, pairs up with Ski-Doo, Canada’s renowned snowmobile brand. Both brands share common components, including their engines, which speaks to their compatibility with Greenland’s challenging landscape.
Recently, Grønlands Bådcenter received a range of 2026 models, featuring standout options like the Ski-Doo Expedition LE and the Lynx 69 Ranger Alpine 900 Ace turbo.
They distribute these models to several dealers across Greenland, including Bifrost Motors in Sisimiut, KJ Greenland in Ilulissat and Aasiaat, and BM Sanasoq and El in Tasiilaq, alongside dealer John Hansen in Ittoqqortoormiit.
The Rise of Arctic Cat
At Arctic Star in Sisimiut, the focus is on importing, repairing, and selling Arctic Cat models, which are popular throughout Greenland. Their inventory has recently expanded to include the 2026 models, featuring mountain versions like the HCX and HCR 858, along with versatile options such as the Riot 858 ATAC and the 9000 ATAC. Owner Minik Sachse is thrilled about the new arrivals, highlighting their potential for adventure.
