Greenland was a highlight at the Denver tourism fair

That’s according to Taatsi Fleischer from Arctic Circle Business. He believes the United States holds great potential for future tourism.

There was a great and sincere interest in Greenland at the Adventure Elevate tourism fair in Denver. Many participants expressed that the joint presentation from the entire Greenland delegation, together with the screening of the short film Authentic Intelligence, was one of the highlights of the fair. It clearly created curiosity and respect for the Greenlandic tourism landscape.

Salik S. Grønvold

Salik S. Grønvold from Arctic Circle Treks in Kangerlussuaq participated in a tourism fair of this kind in Denver for the first time, and it was his first time in the United States.

He is a trained adventure and Arctic guide.

But he learned a lot on the trip to Adventure Elevate North America 2025 in Denver Colorado.

Salik Grønvold states that he spoke with potential new partners who were very interested in his Arctic Circle Treks’ trips, and he will continue the discussions with them.

The new flight route between New York and Nuuk has already given his guests better opportunities to get to Kangerlussuaq and participate in his tours.

– I believe that the new flight route will make it easier for Greenland to cooperate with the United States, especially within tourism, and that it will mean more tourists from the United States in Greenland, says Salik Grønvold, to Sermitsiaq.

This is according to Taatsi Fleischer, destination manager at Arctic Circle Business in Qeqqata Municipality, who participated in the tourism fair as a representative of the tourism players in the municipality.

Good reason for optimism

He comes home with several good experiences from Denver.

– Several potential partners expressed interest in contacting the local operators directly to discuss future agreements. As with many trade fairs, however, it is an investment where the results often only become apparent over time.

What do you think about the future of tourists from the United States?

– The USA holds great and untapped potential for Greenland – not just for us in Qeqqata, but nationwide. It requires a joint and long-term effort if we are to break through to a market of that size. But it is definitely worth investing in, Taatsi Fleischer believes.

There is good reason for optimism in Qeqqata, says Taatsi Fleischer.

 – Our tourism players are active, enterprising and generally good at collaborating, which bodes well for both current and future development. For example, they are expanding with hotel rooms and hotel apartments to future-proof the development, he says.
