In a significant development for Greenlandic handball, Jakob Larsen has been appointed as the national coach for the women’s national team. With a robust background in the sport, Larsen has long been a prominent figure in handball, and he now steps into this pivotal role with fresh energy and an unwavering commitment.
Carsten Olsen, chairman of TAAK, expressed confidence in Larsen’s capabilities. “Jakob Larsen is the ideal choice to lead the women’s national team. TAAK is currently undergoing rapid development alongside substantial organizational strengthening. The ambitions set by our board align perfectly with the overarching goals of Greenlandic handball, including our target for World Cup qualification in June 2027.”

For Larsen, the excitement about this new chapter is palpable. “As a former player on the national team myself, this is my opportunity to give back,” he remarked. “TAAK’s commitment to enhancing its organizational structure aligns seamlessly with my own ambitions for Greenlandic handball. Together, we will strive to qualify the national team for the World Cup once again. I’m grateful to HH Elite for this opportunity, and I look forward to a fruitful partnership.”
