Media names Greenland as one of the best travel destinations
The British media outlet BBC has named Greenland one of the 25 best travel destinations in 2025. In their guide, they highlight, among other things, the tourism law.
– Adventure awaits those who know how to seize it, polar explorer Knud Rasmussen once said.
And according to the BBC, Greenland is one of the places where adventure awaits, and the trip this year should go. They have named Greenland as one of the 25 best places to travel to in 2025.
– With the opening of a new international airport in the capital Nuuk, and the prospect of opening two more airports in 2026, it has never been easier to get to Greenland, writes BBC.
On the list – which the BBC publishes every year – Greenland appears in fourth place out of a total of 25 countries. In first, second and third place respectively are the island and republic of Dominica, Naoshima in Japan and the Dolomites in Italy.
The theme for this year’s list was places, countries and cities that both offer “incredible travel experiences” and “use tourism to support local communities, protect the environment and preserve their unique cultural heritage”.
– Greenland has signed up to a pledge for “better tourism”, and a new tourism law aims to ensure that funds from tourism will benefit local communities, writes the BBC, among other things.
