Denmark and the other NATO countries have agreed to spend a total of five percent of GDP on defense by 2035.

At the summit in The Hague, NATO countries have agreed to spend five percent of gross domestic product (GDP) on defense and security-related spending in the future, according to a statement.

Here, the NATO countries also confirm that they stand behind the so-called musketeer order in Article Five of the NATO Treaty.

Therefore, the United States, as one of the 32 countries, agrees to defend the other countries in the alliance in the event of an attack.

    Ritzau writes that.

According to DR, countries must currently spend two percent on defense. But in future they must spend 3.5 percent on “hard” defense spending such as ammunition and military and 1.5 percent on security spending in a broader sense.
