In a significant reshuffle following this year’s general meeting, Great Greenland has appointed Aviaja Holm Jensen as its new director. Jensen, who previously served as the acting director, officially stepped into the role on December 1, as reported by KNR. This transition came swiftly on the heels of the resignation of former director Preben Møller, which occurred by mutual agreement.

The company, known for its operations in the seal skin industry, also saw substantial changes to its board during an extraordinary general meeting. According to the Central Business Register, several key members have departed: chairwoman Juliane Henningsen Heilmann, along with board members Louise Grace Lynge Berthelsen and Niels Eli Boassen.

Taking the helm as the new chairwoman is Pitsi Høegh, a seasoned businesswoman and co-owner of the tourism company Greenland Sagalands. Joining her on the board is Jørgen Aqe Møller, who brings valuable experience from his role with Royal Arctic Line.

Pitsi Høegh has long been a prominent figure in Qaqortoq, where she has successfully led Greenland Sagalands. Her leadership at Great Greenland promises to usher in a new era for the company, which operates up to 34 procurement points across the country.

Despite its rich heritage, Great Greenland is navigating turbulent waters; its latest financial reports indicate a deficit of DKK 1.1 million. The company has announced that it will require additional subsidies from the Self-Government to sustain its operations moving forward.

As the new leadership takes charge, all eyes will be on Great Greenland, eagerly watching how they will tackle these challenges and steer the company into a promising future.
