At 2:39 p.m. Friday afternoonAnnouncement

The company will fly between Copenhagen and Nuuk three times a week during the high season.

SAS CEO, Anko van der Werff, was on the plane and was received by Greenland Airports’ CEO, Jens R. Lauridsen.

Anko van der Werff is taking the opportunity to take a short vacation in Greenland with his family, he tells Sermitsiaq.

– We’re going sailing and hopefully seeing some whales, and we’re going to see Ilulissat. It’s actually a surprise, so hopefully the kids won’t have time to read it in the newspaper, he says.

In her speech to the assembly, Anko van der Werff emphasized that SAS comes as partners.

The CEO emphasized this by also inviting Air Greenland’s CEO, Jacob Nitter-Sørensen, to come to the improvised stage and say a few words to guests and passengers.

And instead of cutting a ribbon for the inauguration, the assembly chose to tie a ribbon.
