Late Monday evening, Tusass wrote that several satellite homes have lost connection. This means that citizens in the areas can only receive information via TV, radio and Iridium telephony.

Update at 09.46: The connection is stable again, Tusass announces.

Also now Qaanaaq, Ittoqqortoormiit, Tasiilaq and Pituffik and their homes have lost the connection.

Tusass wrote this in a press release late Monday evening. And according to Tussas’ website, that’s still the status as of Tuesday morning.

This means that citizens in the area can only receive information via radio, TV and Iridium telephony, writes Tusass.

The police must be contacted physically

The collapse also means that the Greenland Police have deployed personnel to a number of police stations and are driving around the streets, the police wrote on Facebook.

    – Under the circumstances, the following police stations are staffed:

    Qaanaaq, Pituffik, Ittoqqortoormiit, Tasiilaq

If the police are needed, you must personally contact the stations, and police patrols will be running from time to time so that residents can contact the police. The police also have contact with the fire department and health services in the above-mentioned places.

Tusass states in a new press release at eight o’clock that there is ‘cautious optimism’ because there is again a connection to the satellite areas, but that the connection is not yet stable.
