Ukaleq Slettemark Shatters Records at World Cup Shooting Range

In a stunning display of speed and precision, Ukaleq Slettemark has set a new benchmark at the World Cup, emerging as the fastest competitor on the shooting range. With a remarkable time of just 1 minute and 38 seconds for four shooting series, Ukaleq showcased her talents by executing standing shooting sequences in an astounding 21 seconds—a performance that truly belongs in the realm of world-class athletics.

Facing off against some of the best in the sport, Ukaleq outpaced the renowned Italian sharpshooter Dorothea Wierer by six seconds. Both athletes scored an impressive 18 out of 20 targets; however, neither achieved a perfect round.

Meanwhile, Ukaleq’s brother, Sondre Slettemark, also made waves, though he couldn’t quite match Ukaleq’s blistering pace. He completed his four shooting series in 1 minute and 54 seconds, securing the 35th fastest time out of 102 male competitors. Despite this slower overall time, Sondre demonstrated formidable skill, hitting 19 out of 20 targets, which positioned him as the 8th best shooter when factoring in both shooting accuracy and time. Ukaleq, for her part, ranked 4th under the same criteria.

On the track, both siblings have faced a challenging start to the season, grappling with illness that has hindered their training. Still, Sondre managed to secure a commendable 56th place among 103 participants—his best World Cup showing to date. Ukaleq followed closely behind, finishing 47th out of 103 women, marking her third best result in the World Cup.

As both Ukaleq and Sondre Slettemark continue to show great promise, their performances signal a bright season ahead. The world will undoubtedly be watching closely as these talented siblings pursue their aspirations in biathlon.
