Bureau for Inatsisartut gets new director
The former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Energy, Steen Lynge, will become the new Director of the Bureau for Inatsisartut.
A press release from Inatsisartut states that the Presidency has appointed Steen Lynge (D) as the new director of the Bureau for Inatsisartut.
– Steen Lynge is 61 years old and lives in Nuuk. He will take office on 1 August 2025, taking over the position after the Bureau’s long-time director Ellen Kolby Chemnitz has retired, the press release states.
Steen Lynge is a trained police officer, but has been active in politics for many years. First under the banner of Atassut, where he was, among other things, the Minister of Infrastructure and Health back in 2013-2014.
However, in 2017 he left Atassut and joined Demokraatit. Under his new political banner, he once again became a member of naalakkersuisut, this time as naalakkersuisoq for Foreign Affairs and Energy in 2020.
According to the press release, there has been a lot of interest in the position. However, the choice fell on Steen Lynge, partly because he has a lot of experience with public administration and management.
– He comes from a position in the Self-Government, where he has served as head of HRU in the Central Administration under the Government of Greenland. He has, among other things, administrative experience from the public administration and knowledge of the parliamentary work in Inatsisart, the press release states.
