Pilersuisoq, the local retail hub in Ittoqqortoormiit, has recently acquired a state-of-the-art snowmobile to expand its delivery and operational capabilities. Supplied by Bifrost Motors in Sisimiut, the newest addition is the Lynx Commander Core 900 Ace—a workhorse designed specifically for the challenging Arctic environment.
This 2026 model boasts a sleek design, complete with a custom wrap that reflects the brand identity of KNI and Pilersuisoq. “These snowmobiles are indispensable for our operations,” explains Jeppe Jensen, KNI’s director. “They play a crucial role in transporting goods, managing freight, and even assisting at the helipad and airport.”
Versatile Utility Across the Country
Currently, KNI operates a fleet of 34 snowmobiles sourced from various suppliers. Jensen elaborates on their multifunctionality: “These vehicles are vital for a range of tasks—from delivering supplies to waste management. Their robust design ensures flexibility, reliability, and the ability to navigate the region’s often harsh conditions.”
The Lynx Commander Core 900 Ace enhances these capabilities with a built-in luggage rack, making it especially suited for cargo transport.

Originally manufactured in Finland, Lynx snowmobiles have carved out a strong reputation in the Nordic countries. Now under the ownership of Canadian Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), production continues in Rovaniemi, Finland. This facility is dedicated to crafting snowmobiles optimized for Nordic terrain, ensuring that Lynx machines remain a top choice in Finland, Sweden, and Norway.
