Tom Kaster Named New Production Director at Royal Greenland

Tom Kaster is set to take the helm as the new production director at Royal Greenland, with plans to relocate to Nuuk on June 1.

In a recent press release, Royal Greenland announced the appointment of Kaster, a familiar figure within the company’s management structure. He previously led land-based production operations in Greenland for several years, establishing a robust understanding of the local industry.

As production director, Kaster will oversee all of Royal Greenland’s land-based factories and facilities, both domestically and internationally. His return to the organization comes on the heels of several years spent in various international management roles within the food sector. His extensive experience encompasses global supply chain management, production operations, and strategic planning, which includes responsibilities in quality control, logistics, employee welfare, and digital transformation.

Royal Greenland’s CEO, Toke Binzer, expressed enthusiasm about Kaster’s return, stating, “We are delighted to have Tom back at Royal Greenland. He understands our company and our team, as well as the unique challenges of operating in Greenland. His recent experiences add valuable insight that will be instrumental in our ongoing development.”

It’s worth noting that since Lars Nielsen’s departure in February of last year, Royal Greenland has been without a permanent production director. Kaster’s appointment aims to enhance operational efficiency, maintain high food safety standards, and ensure reliable deliveries.

“I am thrilled to return to Royal Greenland,” Kaster remarked. “The company holds a special significance for our country, and I am eager to collaborate with both familiar and new colleagues to strengthen our production efforts and create value for Greenland and our global clientele.”

With Kaster stepping into this pivotal role, it will mean that come June 1, five out of six members of the executive management team will be residing in Greenland, reinforcing the company’s commitment to its roots while pursuing future growth.
