Greenland Airports Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer

Greenland Airports has officially announced the appointment of Mie Rajcic as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective March 1. Rajcic’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the organization, as it gears up for significant new airport openings in Qaqortoq and Ilulissat, while simultaneously enhancing operations across its network of 13 airports and 46 helipads throughout Greenland.

Rajcic brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having most recently served as COO at Danish Lokaltog A/S, where she managed railway services across Zealand, Lolland, and Falster. Her extensive background in the aviation sector also includes nearly a decade at Copenhagen Airport, where she held various positions that further honed her expertise in the field.

The position of COO had been vacant since September 2025, following the departure of Henrik Estrup. In the interim, Managing Director Jens Lauridsen has been overseeing operations with collaboration from Senior Director Niels Grosen. During this transition, Lauridsen expressed the necessity for a fresh perspective with a stronger focus on commercial development.

Rajcic has identified change management as a core strength, and her appointment aims to propel Greenland Airports into its next chapter of growth. As the company prepares to embark on new projects and initiatives, the industry watches closely to see how her leadership will shape the future of aviation in Greenland.
