Danish Boat Manufacturer Sets Sights on Greenland with ProZero
Tuco Group ApS, a Danish leader in boat manufacturing based in Faaborg on Funen, is making waves in the Arctic maritime sector. Known for its specialized vessels designed for the unique challenges of Arctic waters, the company is expanding its horizons by seeking a business partner in Nuuk.
The ProZero boats have caught the attention of key players in the region, with both Disko Line and Albatros Arctic Circle acquiring models specifically crafted for Greenlandic conditions. In 2024, Albatros Arctic Circle purchased a 13.5-meter ProZero boat, approved by the Danish Maritime Authority to safely carry up to 12 passengers in compliance with Greenland’s stringent regulations. Tuco Group is now eager to forge a partnership in Nuuk to enhance negotiations and maintenance efforts.
Jonas Pedersen, the director of Tuco Group, expressed the company’s long-held ambition to break into the Greenlandic market. “We believe our products align well with the needs here, and we are currently engaged in close discussions with a potential partner in Nuuk,” he stated.
ProZero boats are notable for being purpose-built from the ground up, utilizing fiberglass composite materials engineered for stability in rough waters. With over 300 models derived from three foundational platforms, the offerings can be tailored to meet the specific needs of customers.
Adaptable Vessels with Safety at Their Core
According to Tuco Group, each boat is constructed on proven, rigorously tested hulls, allowing for a level of customization that addresses individual operational demands. For instance, the ProZero model purchased by Albatros Arctic Circle has been designed for day trips and whale-watching excursions, boasting a social-friendly interior and a vantage point on the cabin roof.
The versatility of these vessels extends beyond passenger transport; they are equally well-suited for various maritime tasks across Greenland’s expansive waters. Equipped with advanced navigation and safety systems—including radar, sonar, and automatic fire suppression—these boats prioritize both functionality and security.
Pedersen emphasized their commitment to quality, stating, “The hallmark of our workboats lies in their thorough testing and adaptability to the unique operational requirements of our clients. This not only ensures top-tier performance but also provides users with the confidence to meet their specific needs.”
Feedback from operators already utilizing ProZero boats in Greenland has been encouraging, with many praising the smooth sailing experience the vessels offer.
A Legacy of Craftsmanship in Denmark
Tuco Group crafts its boats to meet precise customer specifications, delivering fully realized solutions ranging in length from 8 to 15.99 meters. The company’s extensive catalog features over 300 distinct models, all meticulously produced at their Faaborg facility.
Since 1998, Tuco has been at the forefront of building specialized maritime vessels, serving both civilian and military clientele. As the company continues to pursue opportunities in Greenland, it stands poised to make a significant impact on the region’s maritime landscape.
