Greenland Mines Corp. Scoops Up Skaergaard Licenses After Acquisition by Klotho Neurosciences

In an intriguing twist in the resource sector, Greenland Mines Corp. has recently taken the helm of exploration licenses for the Skaergaard region in East Greenland. This development comes on the heels of an acquisition by the American biotech firm Klotho Neurosciences, which has since rebranded itself as Greenland Mines Corp.

Established in February this year by industry veterans Hans Jensen and Bo Møller Stensgaard, Greenland Mines is positioned between Miki Fjord and Kangerlussuaq fjords, where it currently holds three exploration licenses under Skaergaard Mining Greenland.

    Special Geological Features

The Skaergaard region, situated between the towns of Tasiilaq and Ittoqqortoormiit, is renowned for its unique geological attributes. Known as the Skaergaard intrusion, this area boasts a distinctive layered rock formation created by ancient lava forces pushing upwards from several kilometers beneath the Earth’s crust. The resultant rocks, primarily gabbro, are rich in valuable metals such as gold and palladium.

Historically, various companies have attempted to exploit the resources in this region, including Eastern Zinc Corporation, Gryphon Metals Corporation, and most recently, Canadian Major Precious Metals. However, these efforts have yet to materialize into actual mining operations. Now, with experienced leaders Joseph Sinkule, Bo Møller Stensgaard, and Hans Jensen at the forefront, Greenland Mines Corp. is poised to embark on the journey of commercializing these deposits. Both Stensgaard and Jensen come armed with backgrounds from notable resource firms, including Bluejay Mining and Dundas Titanium.

    A Unique Intersection of Fields

Although Klotho Neurosciences has not previously dealt in mining—focusing instead on cell and gene therapies for conditions like ALS and Alzheimer’s—Sinkule expressed optimism about this new direction. “We’re merging a world-class mineral asset with our existing biotechnology platform,” he said, emphasizing the creation of a diversified enterprise that could appeal to investors looking for exposure in both innovative life sciences and valuable natural resources. He highlights this venture as a vital step in enhancing Western access to critical minerals.

    Consulting Expertise

To bolster their mining endeavors, Greenland Mines Corp. has enlisted SLR Consulting for a range of geological and technical tasks. SLR’s responsibilities will include drilling and bulk sampling, as well as developing a comprehensive project database. The consultancy’s expertise will also guide mining method evaluations, metallurgical studies, and engineering processes—all essential for reaching future technical milestones.

Looking ahead, the partnership with SLR Consulting will see specialists return to the site in late August or early September 2026 to assist with summer field activities. Greenland Mines Corp. anticipates a collaborative effort with existing consultants, including Finnish GTK Mintec and Canadian engineering powerhouse WSP, to navigate this complex landscape.

As Greenland Mines Corp. prepares to delve into the uncharted territories of East Greenland, the resource community watches closely, curious to see if this latest endeavor will pave the way for a mining breakthrough in a region rich with potential.
