Greenland Energy Investors Anticipate ‘Trump Pump’

Investors in Greenland Energy Embrace Trump’s Fascination with Greenland

In a growing sentiment among shareholders of Greenland Energy, Donald Trump’s ongoing preoccupation with Greenland is being viewed as a potential windfall for the American oil firm.

Inside a bustling Telegram group, now nearing 200 members, investors are openly jubilant about how Trump’s involvement—along with his special envoy Jeff Landry and television host Dr. Phil—might give momentum to the oil project at Jameson Land in East Greenland.

Recent exchanges in the group have brought attention to a screenshot of a private message from board chairman Larry G. Swets, Jr. In it, he notes that individuals within the Trump circle are “following developments very closely.” The conversation shifts to speculation among members about the prospect of the U.S. administration investing in the company.

A recurring theme emerges: many group members are buzzing about the possibility of a so-called “Trump pump,” speculating that the former president might soon highlight the oil project. Most feel it’s just around the corner, and they believe such an endorsement would skyrocket their shares.

    Ties to Power

With two members of the company’s leadership joining the conversation, including Swets himself, the chat has gained a layer of influence. Swets has encouraged members to engage with the company on social media and has even sought their advice on pressing topics.

One active user, known as “Pete Mills,” recently communicated that he believes Swets has indicated support from Trump’s inner circle. “This whole venture appears to be well-coordinated with Dr. Phil and Trump,” he asserted.

Earlier this month, Greenland Energy’s management met with Landry at the Future Greenland conference. Shortly after, Landry made an appearance on Fox News, alluding to an oil project that group members quickly connected to Greenland Energy. As one user, “Robbie,” pointed out, “Larry and Greenland Energy know Jeff Landry well. Dr. Phil is close friends with Trump. The signs are all there.”

    Navigating Connections

There’s a palpable sense within the group regarding how the cordial relationships between the company’s board and Trump affiliates might serve their interests. “Where there’s oil and money, there are connections,” remarked “Chilli,” the group administrator during a recent discussion about political ties.

Kevin, a 37-year-old investor from New York who has put $30,000 into the project, stated, “They maintain friendly relations with insiders.”

However, a source close to Greenland Energy distanced the company from any direct links to Trump and cautioned that they are not solely relying on support from the U.S. government. “They want to focus on the Greenlandic people,” the insider emphasized, expressing surprise over the lack of direct engagement from the administration.

Furthermore, this source suggested that the chatter in the group chat might be overly enthusiastic. Dismissing the members as “day traders from England” who tend to misconstrue connections, the insider noted, “I doubt anyone there owns more than 10,000 shares. They’re hoping for a quick rise, but their investment strategy might not be sound.”

Some investors expressed concerns that overt attention from Trump’s camp might backfire. “Trump isn’t going to help Greenland Energy find oil,” said a potential long-term investor from Great Britain. “The essential task is commencing drilling, identifying oil reserves, and garnering local support.”

    A Media Darlings’ Role

Dr. Phil is also seen as pivotal to the Jameson Land project according to the group chats. He is reportedly launching a significant PR campaign through a documentary series, which will feature a visit to the drilling site. His personal friendship with Trump is viewed as a key asset for the American oil endeavor.

Members hail his involvement as a clever marketing gimmick—a tactic to capture Presidential attention. “They’re leveraging Trump’s threats against Greenland without considering the repercussions,” Kevin remarked during a phone conversation with KNR.

The insider connected to Greenland Energy acknowledged that while Dr. Phil’s ties to Trump present challenges, his involvement should not be misconstrued as manipulative; rather, he aims to share the story of Greenland.

    Following the Money

Discussions within the group often lead to speculation about the implications of significant investment from Ken Griffin, a successful investor and Trump supporter. “You don’t drop that much money into a project without insider knowledge,” “Chilli” shared, reflecting a common belief among group members that immense oil reserves lie in Greenland.

Could Griffin have identified a hidden gem? Many in the group think they’ve uncovered a stock poised for significant appreciation, dubbing the chat #GLND 100 Bagger—an allusion to a stock that skyrockets 100-fold.

In a written response, Greenland Energy’s director Robert Price clarified that the Telegram group is not company-sanctioned but run by private investors, and their participation doesn’t imply official approval of any kind. He reiterated that there are no connections to the Trump administration, emphasizing that the project’s future rests solely on acquiring permissions from Greenland’s authorities and the geological viability of the site.

As for Dr. Phil, his role in the documentary will be independent of any political affiliations, and the company firmly denies labeling this venture as a “Trump project.”
