Dr. Phil Teams Up with Greenland Energy for a New TV Series on Oil Exploration

In a notable partnership, renowned American lifestyle coach and media personality Dr. Phil has inked a deal with Greenland Energy Company, a collaboration sparked by British firm 80 Mile, which holds an oil license for the Jameson Land area. This alliance aims to produce a television series that delves into the intriguing world of oil exploration in Greenland.

The series has already made its debut online, with the first episode available on Dr. Phil’s YouTube podcast channel, currently accumulating a modest 4,380 views.

    An Arctic Adventure Unfolds

The premiere episode, running 44 minutes, features Dr. Phil interviewing Robert Price, the director of Greenland Energy Company, and board chairman Larry Swets. Together, they discuss the ambitious plans for oil drilling in Greenland.

Price reveals that two drilling operations are anticipated to commence in early October, once all the necessary equipment and personnel are stationed at Jameson Land. Dr. Phil describes this undertaking as an “Arctic adventure” that will be filmed in real time.

“When the drill breaks ground, we will be there to capture every moment,” he asserts, emphasizing the global implications of Greenland’s oil: “This is a race we cannot afford to lose. The entire world is eyeing Greenland’s oil, as what transpires here will resonate far beyond its shores.”

    Drawing Parallels with Prudhoe Bay

Price frequently likens Jameson Land to Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay, a well-known oil-rich region at a similar latitude that has yielded over 13 billion barrels of oil. “At current prices, that’s equivalent to approximately 1.3 billion dollars,” he notes, adding that Jameson Land may hold even greater potential.

“We have control over the entire Jameson Land area—spanning 2 million hectares. Independent assessments suggest there could be more than 13 billion barrels of oil here,” he declares.

    Impact on the Greenlandic Community

Addressing the implications for the local Greenlandic population, Dr. Phil questions Swets about the community’s stake in this venture. “We’ve heard Trump joking about buying Greenland, but there’s tangible value here, isn’t there?”

Swets affirms the significance: “If our drilling meets with success, the benefits for the local population could be monumental. My primary motivation is to generate profit, but this project encompasses much more—geopolitical and humanitarian aspects.” He describes the traditional livelihoods of Greenlandic people—focused on tourism, fishing, and hunting—while praising their resilience and character.

“However, we face challenges: there’s minimal local infrastructure and no established labor market. If equipment fails, we have to source replacements ourselves,” he explains.

    Logistics for Shipping Oil

The conversation also touches on the logistics of transporting any oil found in commercial quantities. “One lesson from my time in the oil and gas sector is to never underestimate American ingenuity. We are just five kilometers from a fjord, making it feasible to ship oil out to open waters—a journey of only a day. Much of the market lies in Europe, but this could also bolster U.S. markets.”

    An Addictive Watching Experience

In a final summation, Dr. Phil reflects on the venture’s potential. “There are billions of dollars tucked away beneath the ice in one of the harshest environments on Earth, and one individual believes he can unlock these riches. The debate will persist over the environmental and global energy implications of this exploration. But one thing is certain: the act of drilling is underway, and following this journey promises to be compelling.”

According to the company’s timeline, drilling equipment is set to arrive from Montreal through Nuuk and Iceland in September, with operations planned for the first two weeks of October. However, the Greenlandic Ministry of Natural Resources has yet to grant permission for drilling beyond offloading equipment at the site.
