Change at the Helm: New Faces Join Elite Sport Greenland’s Board

In a significant reshuffle, Elite Sport Greenland has welcomed a fresh batch of leadership to its board of directors during its annual representative meeting.

The newly elected members include Karl Peter Kristensen, Christina Johnsen, and Laila Friis-Salling, who now take up pivotal roles in guiding the future of sports in Greenland. This transition comes as three longstanding members—Inooraq Brandt, Niviaq Chemnitz Berthelsen, and Ann Arnfjord—step down.

In a press release, Elite Sport Greenland expressed heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing board members for their invaluable contributions to the advancement of elite sports in the region. Their dedication has played a crucial role in shaping the landscape of athletics in Greenland.

Chairman Angutinnuaq Hegelund-Tittussen highlighted the promising trajectory of elite sports in Greenland, noting the growing political support for athletes. He emphasized the importance of the new board’s mission: “I look forward to collaborating with the new members as we undertake the vital task of helping our elite athletes reach the highest levels on the international stage.”

With this renewed leadership, Elite Sport Greenland is poised to continue its upward momentum in promoting athletic excellence.
