René Olsen, the national coach, is optimistic about the upcoming men’s futsal qualification for Nunatsinni Pissartanngorniunneq (NP). He expects a high-energy atmosphere and thrilling matches as the competition unfolds. The tournament is structured across two regions: north and south, with the first matches launching in Maniitsoq on February 16, 2026.
In the southern bracket, the qualification is managed by Aqissiaq in Maniitsoq, featuring teams like Nagtoralik from Paamiut, alongside three contenders from Nuuk: Young Guns Futsal, IT-79, and last year’s champions, B67.
Meanwhile, in the north, T-41 from Aasiaat takes the reins for organization. Competing teams include QSC from Qaanaaq, N-48 from Ilulissat, Qasigiannguit Ball Klub, G-44 from Qeqertarsuaq, and the host club, T-41.
“The initial matches in Maniitsoq demonstrated that the players are eager to bring their A-game,” Olsen noted. “We have a wealth of young talent to watch, and I’m curious to see how they cope with the pressures of the men’s division. The second phase of qualification begins this Wednesday in Aasiaat, promising some thrilling matchups,” he added.
This tournament will ultimately decide which teams earn a spot in this year’s NP in men’s futsal.
