Greenland’s U19 Futsal Team Heads to Croatia for Futsal Week Summer Cup
Greenland’s U19 men’s futsal team is set to embark on an exciting journey to Poreč, Croatia, where they will compete in the prestigious Futsal Week Summer Cup. Meanwhile, the Greenland women’s national team has already arrived in Croatia and is gearing up for their tournament matches.
In all, 16 national teams will take part in this tournament, marking a significant opportunity for competition and growth. According to a press release from Kalaallit Arsaattartut Kattuffiat (KAK), the U19 team will kick off their campaign against none other than the reigning European champions, Portugal.
“Facing the defending European champions right out of the gate speaks volumes about the level of competition we’re encountering,” noted the coaching staff, comprised of Lars-Erik Reimer, Aqqalooraq Møller-Lund, and Patrick Frederiksen. “We’re not just here to chase results; we want to gauge our skills against the best in the field and learn from the experience. Such exposure is invaluable for the future of futsal in Greenland.”
Women’s National Team in Action
The highly anticipated opening match between Portugal and Greenland is scheduled for Thursday next week, and fans can catch all the action live on Facebook. Currently, the women’s tournament is underway, with Greenland’s women taking a breather today but preparing for a clash against Hungary tomorrow.
